Geothermal

In 2017 I visited Iceland and did the usual tourist thing looking at sulphury landscapes. One one occasion we stepped out into the landscape and walked among the steaming, bubbling pools of liquid ground, the tang of sulphur strong in our nostrils. These works are inspired by those landscapes and evoke the colours, smells and smokiness of that experience.

The first works in this collection were exhibited at my solo show “Residue” in 2018. I have recently returned to the subject and expanded the collection. All works here are acrylic and texture paste on canvas.
